The Texas Nicaraguan Community (TNC) organization, through its social media, reported that last week they recorded the deaths of Nicaraguan migrants Jarelys Sáenz Centeno and Rolando Varela Gómez, who resided in the United States.

Jarelys Sáenz Centeno, the organization explained, was originally from the Chagüite Grande community of El Ocote, Sébaco, Matagalpa. She had arrived in the United States three years ago and died this Sunday, August 25, in the morning, when she was in the apartment where she lived in Michigan, United States.

Nicaraguan migrant Rolando Varela Gómez, 41, died on August 21 and his family requested, through TNC, support to repatriate his body from Houston, United States.

Varela Gómez, one of his relatives confirmed to TNC, worked at a construction company in Houston and, on August 21, after feeling exhausted, decided to rest in his vehicle at around 3 p.m., but an hour later his colleagues found him without vital signs.

The repressive acts that have gained the greatest international relevance are those of bishops Silvio Báez and Rolando Álvarez, who have been strong critics of the government and in response have been exiled and denationalized by the Sandinistas.
