Hidrocapital will make a scheduled stop of the Tuy II for 48 hours from #29Aug

Hidrocapital reported that work will be carried out in El Encantado to install a 300-meter pipeline, which will leave several sectors in Caracas without water.


On Monday night, August 26, Hidrocapital announced that it will carry out a scheduled shutdown of the Tuy II System to carry out strengthening, stabilization and maintenance work, with an expected duration of at least 48 hours.

The works that Hydrocapital The works to be carried out are related to the work of the crews to interconnect a 100-inch pipeline, approximately 300 meters long, in the El Encantado sector of the El Hatillo municipality in the state of Miranda. On the other hand, it clarifies that the Tuy I and III systems will remain active.

In this regard, several parishes in the Libertador and Miranda municipalities – which are part of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Caracas – will be left without water service for a minimum period of two days.

Hidrocapital reported that in Libertador, sectors in the parishes of 23 de Enero, Altagracia, Catedral, El Recreo, La Pastora, San Agustín, San Bernardino, San José, San Juan, Santa Teresa, San Pedro and Sucre will be affected; while in Miranda, the parish of El Hatillo, the entire Baruta municipality and sectors in the parishes of Petare, La Dolorita, Filas de Mariche and Caucagüita in the Sucre municipality will be affected without water.

The past March 9, Hidrocapital announced that repair work has been completed on the 85-inch main pipeline in El Encantado, El Hatillo municipality, Miranda state, which affected the North and South feeders and left several areas of Caracas without water.

Through its account on the social network X, Hidrocapital indicated that after 24 hours of continuous work they removed earth with heavy machinery to access the damaged pipeline and install internal and external plates with welding in the parts that required it.

On Friday, March 8, the Public Services Department of the El Hatillo Municipality reported the breakage in the main pipeline. Officials indicated that they established communication with Hidrocapital while the crew from that jurisdiction was carrying out the first work to address the problem.
