The sudden death of SO3 PNP Fabiola Jiménez Garcés has caused shock among her family and friends. She died at the Cayetano Heredia hospital, after a cesarean section was performed.
Her husband Darwin Crisanto said that the situation began on August 18 when Fabiola was admitted to the hospital due to health complications (preeclampsia).
She explained that, during the last few days of her conversation via WhatsApp with her partner, she told him that everything was going to pass and that they would soon be with their son.
“The last time we saw her was on Tuesday. We have left her well, it was all because of some pills she took, since then her health has worsened,” said Darwin.
She added that after these complications, doctors had to perform a cesarean section to save the baby, who was born at 34 weeks and is now in an incubator. What seemed to be going well, worsened in the following days, until doctors reported his death.
“Now my son is fighting for his life. We were waiting for him with open arms, but now they have left him without his mother. She longed for the baby very much, she wanted him, she desired him. It is unfortunate that this is happening in a place that is supposedly the best hospital in Piura,” she insisted.
Meanwhile, a SuSalud commission arrived at the hospital to gather information and begin an investigation into the alleged medical negligence, reported Dr. Ericka Rojas.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office, for its part, reported that it has been handling the case since August 22 following the complaint of alleged negligence.
