The 65th National Standard Bird Exhibition will be held from October 5 to 14 at the Conventos venue
The Cerro Largo Poultry Farmers’ Society (SACELA) announced the main details of the activities that will be carried out within the framework of La Expo Melo 2024 organized by the Cerro Largo Agricultural Society.
The 65th Edition of the National Standard Bird Exhibition and the 1st National Bantam Bird Exhibition, named Martín “Coco” Rivero, are scheduled to take place between Saturday 5 and Monday 14 October.
According to the Program sent to THE PROFESSIONAL Daily The entry of registered birds is scheduled for Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th from 8am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm.
The Admission Jury will be composed of a representative of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries, by the veterinarians Dr. Víctor Tort and Dr. Agustina Vidal, while Baldo Ramos, Julio Lima and Rodrigo Mello will act for SACELA.
The Qualifying Jury will work on Monday 7, Tuesday 8, Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 October covering all the breeds that will be present at the exhibition.
On Friday 10th all the Grand Champions will be announced.
INTERNATIONAL JURY IN MELO
The jury will be international due to the presence of Aldo Lorenzo who will come from Argentina especially for the activity. The Secretary is Rubén Monfil from Mexico. Gustavo Larronda from Treinta y Tres completes the panel.
The organization determined that the awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 12th in the evening at the Galpón de las AVES at the Conventos de la Sociedad Agropecuaria de Cerro Largo premises.
Sales will be concentrated on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th October.
The collection and shipment of birds will take place on Monday, October 14.
In this way, the Exhibition organized annually by the Cerro Largo Poultry Farmers’ Society returns, taking into account that in 2023 it could not be held for health reasons.
The deadline for registrations will be September 18 at 9 p.m. and can be done via email [email protected] or via WHATSAPP in writing.
SACELA members must pay $120 per specimen and non-members $150 for each animal they present.
2 INFORMATIONAL TALKS
At the same time, there will be various talks, on the one hand, by Veterinarians Virginia Rucci and María Laura Bertalmío from the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries; and also by Judges and Poultry Farmers. The day and time of the first one have yet to be determined, while the second will be on Friday 10th at a time to be set.
