To show their dissatisfaction with the public election of judges and magistrates, among other changes contemplated by the judicial reform, the protesters use lights to accompany their protest.
Guadalupe Acosta Naranjo, former deputy and former national president of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD), denounced on social media that hours before the workers arrived, security elements were already guarding the Angel.
URGENT ATTENTION ‼️
Thus the Angel of Independence two hours before the concentration of workers, judges and magistrates of the Judicial Branch of the Federation.
They are authoritarian.
Let’s join the workers in their struggle, let’s come at 7 pm.

Hours earlier, a group of workers who are part of the National Association of Circuit Magistrates and District Judges of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (JUFED) marched from the Federal Palace of Justice to the Chamber of Deputies to notify legislators of the creation of a Dialogue Commission and request the opening of a table to negotiate a “comprehensive reform that respects judicial independence.”
Prior to the march, Judge Juana Fuentes, director of the JUFED, gave a speech asking judges not to give in to “pressure” and to continue fighting for justice to be impartial and accessible.
“If we allow injustice to flourish in our courts, we will be opening the door for it to spread throughout our society,” said Judge Fuentes, who asserted that she is facing “fierce resistance.”
