The Minister of Treasury and Finance of the province of Buenos Aires, Pablo López, assured that exports in the Buenos Aires territory “closed a historic year”, with foreign sales of US$ 2,640 million in December, “the best on record” .

In his account on the asocial network Twitter, López explained that “growth was driven by two factors: although international prices grew, so did quantities; exported volumes went through the best second semester since the beginning of the series”.

“In December, the province’s share of national exports increased, reaching 40 percent. The category of industrial manufactures stood out again, with 51.4 percent. This is reflected in the strong recovery that the industrial sector is going through,” he added.

In addition, he pointed out that “in terms of quantities, the volumes exported in December were the highest since there is a record. The item with the highest growth in year-on-year terms was Manufactures of Industrial Origin (28% vs 2020), followed by Primary Products (18%)”.

López also maintained that “in exported amounts, the item with the highest growth in December was primary products (258% year-on-year), followed by manufactures of agricultural origin (113%). Meanwhile, the item that contributed the most to the total was industrial manufactures. , with 985 million of the North American currency”.

The Buenos Aires official added that “in 2021, the Nation exported 77,000 million dollars and the province contributed 28,000, 35.8 percent of the total. The level of participation of Buenos Aires in national sales was the most important on record and was essential for them to have the best performance since 2012.”

Finally, he stated that “within the region, Brazil stood out in December with 663 million dollars, followed by Chile with 177 and Peru with 85. In relation to sales destined outside South America, China, India and the US have consolidated as major trading partners.

“With this data, we continue to confirm that 2021 was a year of strong reactivation in the province. Exports were one of the most outstanding items. The challenge is to consolidate growth in 2022”, he concluded.
