Jackson Porozo, Ecuadorian central defender signed by Leganés, During his presentation at the Butarque stadium, he said that his arrival at the blue and white club in the top category of Spanish football “will be a great personal and footballing growth.”
“I’m happy to be here. Now it’s time to do my best to make it a season full of achievements for everyone. I’ve only been here a short time, but both the coach and the management have given me confidence. “I will respond in the best way possible from training to training. It will be a great personal and footballing growth. I want to focus on working well in a different league and continue growing,” he said.
Porozo considered that in the aerial game “he is very strong” and also in one-on-one situations, as well as adding speed as one of his three main characteristics. Regarding his role on the field, he said: “I’m used to playing wherever I’m assigned. I can defend in a medium or low block. There are strong, fast, more technical forwards, and you have to be prepared to defend them all. This is one of the most important leagues, it’s a nice thing and I hope to have many games here and grow.”
On the other hand, he analyzed his options of being called up to his country’s national team: “Now I’m thinking about Leganés. If I do well here, I’ll be in the national team. But for now I’m focusing on what’s here. I hope I can be on Ecuador’s list.”
Previously, the club’s sporting director, Txema Indias, explained the reasons for his incorporation: “With Jackson, we were and are a little lame at center back. “He is a centre-back who fits what we are looking for. Physically he is very good. And all the references we have of him, on a personal level, are also very good. We have heard very good things about him.”

“He is a player who, despite being young, has played many games in many high-level leagues such as Portugal, France, Turkey and now the Spanish League. He comes with desire. His signing has taken a little longer, but we are confident that he will be with us,” he concluded.
