The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office of Piura found more than 40 orders and payment vouchers in the Treasury area of the National University of Piura for a value exceeding 600,000 soles in the name of businesswoman Adriana Ojeda Gutiérrez, just 24 years old. She is the daughter of Gabriel Avelino Ojeda Reyes, who recorded the suspended rector of the National University of Piura. Piura (UNP), Santos Montaño Roalcaba, allegedly receiving a bribe of S/10 thousand soles, in May 2023.

According to the documentation from the Treasury Office of this higher education institution and which was delivered on August 12 to the provincial prosecutor of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Crimes of Corruption of Public Officials of Piura, Wilson Aliaga Angulo, there are 42 invoices or receipts of the payment made to Ojeda Gutiérrez.
According to the file to which Mail had access, in 2022 the businesswoman provided several services to the UNP, for an amount of S/ 91,224, among which is the “Acquisition of three metal detectors for the security area of the UNP”, for an amount of S/ 34,784; as well as the implementation service of the integrated video surveillance system of booth No. 4 of the UNP for S/ 27,227,; cancellation for the maintenance and repair service of booth No. 4 of the UNP for S/ 21,240, among others.
In 2023, the businesswoman also benefited from 16 services for an amount of S/ 417,763, including the service of conditioning of perimeter fence (barbed wire), on the land owned by UNP for S/ 19,360; integration and connection service of cameras in the observation room to the video surveillance cameras of the UNP Faculty of Health Sciences for S/ 22,949, maintenance service of DVR and video surveillance cameras located on the outside of the central auditorium, Institute of Culture, Faculty of Education, white building and UNP janitorial staff for S/ 21,357.
Also for S/ 27,983, the service was provided for the integration and connection of cameras from the observation room to the video surveillance cameras of booths 2, 3 and 4 of the UNP. For S/ 8,307, the air conditioning was installed as requested by the planning and budget office and the budget and formulation units, among others.
In 2024, Ojeda Gutiérrez has proof of payments exceeding 108 thousand soles.
Among the services provided are S/ 34,828 for the maintenance of floors and walls of the UNP central library; S/ 28,784 for the purchase of 12 Garret metal detectors, requested by the UNP general services unit, among others.
Specifically, Gabriel Ojeda Reyes assured the Prosecutor’s Office that he gave S/ 10,000 to the rector of UNP Santos Montaño, of the S/ 30,000 that was requested from him, to pay for his daughter’s services at this higher education institution.
