.
In this area of Tierra Caliente, in addition to protecting the forests We also protect endangered animals such as the jaguar and other species, and if that were not enough, we have water currents that go to both the Tierra Caliente region and the Costa Grande, in addition to the fact that the planting of narcotics has already ended.

The Union of Ejidos, which has a presence in the municipalities of Coyuca de Catalán, Ajuchitlán del Progreso, and San Miguel Totolapan, in Tierra Caliente, as well as in Atoyac de Álvarez and Tecpan de Galeana, prohibits the planting of poppies, and is implementing a reforestation project in support of the fight against climate change.
