PLD Political Committee meets this Monday to discuss proposed amendment to the Constitution

Comité Político del PLD se reúne este lunes para tratar propuesta de modificación a la Constitución

SANTO DOMINGO.– The Political Committee (PC) of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) will meet this Monday to consider the proposed amendment to the Constitution of the Republic submitted to the National Congress by the Executive Branch.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Reinaldo Pared Pérez National House starting at 10:00 a.m.

It is an extraordinary meeting whose sole purpose is to review the proposed amendment to the nation’s Substantive Law presented by the Executive Branch.

The General Secretariat of the PLD has channeled the invitation to the members of the party’s leadership body through the appropriate channels, with a high expectation of attendance.

The document supporting the reform proposal has been sent to the members of the organization so that they can present their ideas, positions and recommendations at the meeting.

Last week, the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) clarified in a statement that it had not taken a position on the proposed constitutional reform, pending the formalization of its presentation. It explained that as soon as the content of the proposal was made known, the PLD leadership would be summoned to analyze the proposal.

With this objective, the call has been made and the stage set in the Bienvenido Sandoval Hall of the Reinaldo Pared Pérez National House.

Since this is a meeting of a party organization, the meeting is between its members, although at the beginning of the meeting the doors are opened to representatives of the media to capture the opening images and at the end of the meeting, as usual, explanations are offered on the decisions taken in the deliberations.
