Fascism is characterized by a desperate response to the advance of socialist ideals, based on terror, hatred, and the desire for revenge “of the last names,” said the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during the broadcast of episode number 13 of his podcast, together with content creator Diego Ruzzarin and political scientist Juan Carlos Monedero.
“Fascism goes through phases, first it deceives the masses, it is an irrational phenomenon that is based on emotional leadership. In Venezuela we know what we are talking about because we have just been victims of a criminal attack, not only a cyber attack, but a fascist attack that sought to eliminate the entire population that thinks differently from the right and the savage capitalists,” said the Head of State.
He denounced the narrative in the media and networks
Likewise, he highlighted that in order to advance this coup d’état, the far-right dedicated itself to creating a narrative in the media and social networks in which they made people believe that electoral fraud had occurred in the country in order to justify violence and foreign interventionism in Venezuela’s internal affairs.
“In addition to all the workload with campaigns prepared on social media and with algorithms, progress was made in the preparation of the commandos, who are paid people who live off of crime, who would execute the plans to bring society to an extreme point of violence, as they intended to do on July 29 and 30,” he stressed, while indicating that the civil-military union managed to restore peace in the country in 48 hours.
Venezuela, the jewel in the crown
In this sense, he assured that these actions are part of “a war that is being carried out for the jewel in the crown, which is Venezuela.”
“Venezuela has the largest oil reserves on the planet, it has the largest gold reserve, the fourth largest reserve of gas, aluminum, coltan, and so on. By breaking the jewel in the crown, they are going for the colonization of all of America,” he said.
He also stressed that despite the attacks, a great battle for dignity and truth is taking place in our country. “In Venezuela, the future of true democracy and the alternative to savage capitalism is being decided, in favor of humanity,” he stressed.
Resurgence of fascism
The Head of State also said that fascism has gained significant ground in the region and across the planet because “a new world is emerging.”
“The BRICS have emerged and now they want to stop China, Russia, and all the member countries of this bloc. They want to destroy the BRICS,” he emphasized, while stressing that Javier Miley’s decision not to allow Argentina to join this bloc was an “order given to him by his bosses, the United States.”
The President also denounced that large media corporations are preparing to take power directly in the United States.
He stressed that magnates such as Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk are working on this project of global domination and in light of this, “they have conquered an element that is very important, such as social networks that mark people’s lives.”
In this sense, he highlighted that a “kind of new colonialism” has emerged in the world that uses influencers to try to impose criteria “through stories, jokes and memes”, the idea that the far right is the majority and in this way impose extremist, fascist currents.
Plans of the far right
For his part, the philosopher and political scientist Juan Carlos Monedero, explained that if the plans of the extreme right had succeeded on July 28, the left of the entire continent would have collapsed.
