Citizen insecurity continues unabated. Two heavily armed criminals, in the midst of a hellish shootout, assaulted a prosperous liquor merchant at the door of his mother’s house and stole 50,000 soles that he had withdrawn minutes before from a bank branch, in Piura.

The robbery occurred over the weekend at 2:11 p.m., when a liquor merchant, accompanied by a woman, arrived at his mother’s house, located in the first phase of the Ignacio Merino development, aboard a white pickup truck.
According to security camera footage, the shopkeeper was about to open the door of his home when two criminals appeared on a motorcycle. The passenger got off the motorcycle and, after pointing a gun at him, threw him to the ground and fired several shots.
Using foul language and constantly threatening to shoot him, he demands that he hand over the money that he had withdrawn from a bank minutes earlier.
Immediately, the thug opens the door of the truck, where a woman was, and begins to search her belongings and the entire vehicle, but without taking the gun from the businessman who was lying on the road.
After a few minutes of searching the vehicle, the thug, who is wearing a cap and a white polo shirt and jeans, finally finds the money that was in a bag.
With the loot in hand, he climbs onto the motorbike of his accomplice who was waiting for him a few metres away. After recovering, the businessman tries to follow the thugs in his van, but without success.
It was learned that despite the fact that they called the Los Algarrobos police station, they never showed up at the scene. Later, the complaint was made to the robbery section of the Criminal Investigation Division (Divincri), who are carrying out the investigations.
One of the thugs, who targeted the businessman, has already been identified in the Divincri photo album. The images from the security cameras that captured the moment of the spectacular robbery are already being analysed by the police to identify the other accomplice, but so far there have been no positive results.
