Students from all over Brazil will take the National Exam for Certification of Skills for Young People and Adults (Encceja) 2024 this Sunday (25). In total, 895,512 people are registered, of which 754,267 (84.23%) are seeking certification for high school, and 141,245 (15.77%) for elementary school.
The Encceja has been conducted by the National Institute of Studies and Educational Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP) since 2002 to assess the knowledge and skills of young people and adults who did not complete elementary or high school at the appropriate age for each stage of education. The exam is an opportunity for these students to obtain a certificate.
Participation is voluntary and free, with tests held in two shifts. In the morning, the tests run from 9 am to 1 pm, with the gates opening at 8 am and closing at 8:45 am. In the afternoon, the gates open at 2:30 pm and close at 3:15 pm. The tests start at 3:30 pm and end at 8:30 pm.
“Participants entitled to additional time will have an extra hour to complete the exam in both shifts. The application will follow Brasília time,” informed the Encceja organizer.
Results
The Encceja results are used by the Education departments and federal institutes as a parameter to certify participants at the level of completion of primary and secondary education. “The exam also establishes a national reference for the evaluation of young people and adults, thus having a multidimensional relevance for Brazilian education,” he noted.
“Encceja also serves as a guide for the implementation of procedures and policies to improve the quality of education for young people and adults, in addition to enabling the development of studies and indicators on the Brazilian education system,” concluded Inep.
Revalida
Inep will still apply this Sunday the tests of the first stage of the National Exam for Revalidation of Medical Degrees Issued by a Foreign Higher Education Institution (Revalida) 2024/2. The exams will take place in nine Brazilian cities: Belo Horizonte (MG), Brasília (DF), Campo Grande (MS), Curitiba (PR), Porto Velho (RO), Recife (PE), Rio Branco (AC), Salvador (BA) and São Paulo (SP).
“The objective is to assess skills, competencies and knowledge necessary for professional practice in accordance with the principles and needs of the Unified Health System (SUS),” he said.
Like Encceja, the tests (objective and discursive) are administered in two periods. According to Brasília time, access to the objective test locations was released at 7 am for the first round, which lasts five hours, and in the afternoon it will start at 2:30 pm. The morning start was at 8 am and in the afternoon for the discursive test it will start at 3:30 pm.
“Participants with additional time will have an extra hour to complete the test,” added Inep.
According to the organization, the Exam covers the five major areas of medicine: clinical medicine, surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, and family and community medicine (collective health).
“The references are services in the context of primary, outpatient, hospital, emergency and community care, based on the National Curricular Guidelines for the Medical Course, associated regulations and professional legislation. Participation in the second stage depends on approval in the first,” he indicated.
