PJ will evaluate Vladimir Cerrón’s request to be covered by the ‘Soto law’ in the Antalsis case

Vladimir Cerrón

From hiding, the owner of Free Peru Vladimir Cerron Last July, through his legal defense, he filed a request to declare the statute of limitations on the proceedings against him in the so-called Antalsis case.

This is under the ‘Soto Law’ – so called because it was promoted by the former head of the Congress of the Republic Alejandro Soto – which reduces to one year the period for the justice system to pursue and punish a crime.

The Judiciary has now set the hearing for next Wednesday, September 18, in which Judge Leodán Cristóbal Ayala will determine whether to dismiss the complaint against Cerrón for the alleged crime of criminal association.

According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the man already convicted of corruption in the Wanka Aerodrome case allegedly joined a criminal organization headed by Martín Belaunde Lossio through which the State was defrauded of more than 26 million soles through works that were carried out when he was regional president of Junín between 2011 and 2014.

The former political partner of coup leader Pedro Castillo and President Dina Boluarte has been a fugitive from justice for 323 days. He became a fugitive after being sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison for the Wanka Aerodrome case.
