Police personnel from the Cabanillas District Police Station (Puno) arrested Bernardino Coaquira M. (45) for alleged participation in the crime of sexual rape against an 18-year-old girl with a disability, recognized by the National Council for the Integration of People with Disabilities (Conadis).

According to the police report, the victim, identified by the initials ASQC, was allegedly sexually assaulted by the detainee in an uninhabited building near his residence, in the town of Tincopalca, Cabanillas district. The incident was witnessed by a 14-year-old minor, a friend of the victim’s brother.
The police intervention occurred after the young woman’s mother filed a complaint. Upon arriving at the suspect’s home, the police officers found him alone and proceeded to arrest him, informing him of the charges against him and his legal rights.
The detainee and the victim along with his parents were then transferred to the crimes and misdemeanors section for the corresponding investigations. The case was placed at the disposal of the Second Provincial Corporate Criminal Prosecutor’s Officeled by prosecutor Diana Roque Quarita, who ordered the coordination of actions with SEINCRI Juliaca. The authorities continue with the proceedings.
