Questions have come from all sides against the congressman’s project Waldemar Cerronbrother of the fugitive sentenced for corruption Vladimir Cerronwhich seeks to form a parliamentary commission to oversee judges and prosecutors.

Representatives of all branches of government reacted to this threat against those who have proven and continue to prove the crimes that the owner of Peru Libre has committed.

For Javier Arévalo, president of the Judiciary, this approach is unconstitutional and anti-democratic.

“The project reflects a totalitarian spirit of controlling the justice administration bodies. We reject it and we tell the democratically-minded congressmen to prevent the processing of projects of this nature,” he said.

The Speaker of Parliament, Eduardo Salhuana, also shared his displeasure with his colleague’s claim.

“He has the right as a congressman, but as a parliamentarian I do not have the same opinion, I do not support these initiatives,” he said.

From the Executive, the Minister of Justice, Eduardo Arana, stated: “There can be no political control over judicial rulings. This project violates the Constitution.”
