Mexico City wakes up early this Sunday to run 42 kilometers and 195 meters of the Marathon

The runners will then head towards the Soumaya Museum and continue along Paseo de la Reforma, passing in front of the Monument to the Revolution. The route will continue along Juárez Avenue, where participants will pass in front of the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the Torre Latinoamericana, to end at the Zócalo.

In order to ensure a safe and uninterrupted experience for participants, authorities will be closing several major avenues during the event. Among the affected roads are Insurgentes Sur, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Sonora, Chapultepec Avenue, Calzada Chivatito, Calzada Mahatma Gandhi, Moliere, Cuernavaca Railway, Thiers, Rubén Darío, Darwin, Paseo de la Reforma, Avenida Juárez, República del Salvador, and the accesses to the Historic Center.

As a result of the above, public servants from 16 departments such as the Secretariats of Government, Mobility, Works and Services of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection, Health, the Heroic Fire Department, LOCATEL, INDEPORTE and various areas of the Secretariat of Citizen Security will participate in the operation to protect the participants.

As well as the Ministry of the Environment, the Rescue and Medical Emergency Squad (ERUM), the Collective Transportation System (STC) Metro, Metrobús, Electric Transportation Service (STE), Passenger Transportation Network (RTP), the Digital Agency for Public Innovation (ADIP), the Command, Control, Computing, Communications and Citizen Contact Center (C5).

The 2024 CDMX Telcel Marathon has established itself as a global benchmark, meeting the highest environmental and social standards established by World Athletics and the Council for Responsible Sport, allowing it to maintain the Gold Label certification.

To ensure the mobility of participants and pedestrians, the Metro Collective Transport System (STC) will begin its service at 5:00 a.m. and will allow free access to runners who present their number. In addition, the Electric Transport Service will provide free support transport from 3:00 a.m. at different points in the city.

Likewise, the capital government will provide support transportation to runners at 6 points in the city, with descent at the Olympic University Stadium and two boarding points, one at Av. Revolución-Río Becerra (start at 3:30 a.m.), Indios Verdes (starting at 3 a.m.) and Perisur (starting at 3:30 a.m.). And 3 descent points in Perisur with ascent at San Jerónimo-Pino Suárez (starting at 3 a.m.), Av. Río Churubisco-Palacio de los Deportes (starting at 3 a.m.), and Glorieta SCOP (starting at 3:30 a.m.).

To ensure that all participants can enjoy a full and safe experience during the event, a security device consisting of 1,100 police officers, 700 traffic elements and 400 citizen security elements, 22 motorcycle patrols, as well as 30 SEMOVI road monitors will be implemented. Additionally, C5 will monitor the route through 1,030 video surveillance cameras.
