The Ministry of the Interior (Mininter), in a statement issued through its official X account (formerly Twitter), clarified that the kidnapping of Iván Siucho has no relation to the emblematic case of ‘Los Waykis en la Sombra’.
As we recall, yesterday, the Special Team against Corruption of Power (Eficcop) received a complaint that effective collaborator Iván Siucho had been kidnapped and this allegedly compromised the investigation that is being carried out, among others, against Nicanor Boluarte, the president’s brother, and his former lawyer Mateo Castañeda.
Because of this and in light of the doubts and rumors that arose, the general commander of the PNP, Victor Zanabria, spoke to the press and ruled out any connection between the kidnapping of Siucho Neira and the prosecution’s accusation against Dina Boluarte’s brother for forming an alleged criminal organization.
In this context, the Ministry of the Interior gave its full support to the Police Commander through an official statement disseminated on all its social networks where it states -strongly- that both cases are not linked “as the Public Prosecutor’s Office wrongly reports (through the coordinating prosecutor of Eficcop, Marita Barreto)”.
“The investigations will determine the motivations of these seven subjects (kidnappers) who would have acted with an extortion or patrimonial purpose,” explained the Mininter, pointing out the presumed true motive of the kidnapping of citizen Iván Siucho this Friday, August 23 at one in the afternoon while he was leaving his house in Surco.
However, sources of Peru21the Public Prosecutor’s Office reaffirms and supports the statements of the Eficcop coordinating prosecutor, Marita Barreto.
Kidnapping of Ivan Siucho:
According to information obtained by Peru21The kidnapping occurred around 1:00 pm in the district of Surco. Siucho was intercepted at the exit of his home, located on Las Casuarinas Avenue. The kidnappers, who approached him violently, put him in a Nissan Sentra.
The details reveal that after travelling a stretch, the kidnappers changed vehicles, abandoning the Nissan Sentra, in which, according to sources close to the investigation, drugs were found, which could indicate an attempt to incriminate the collaborator or divert attention from the real motive for the kidnapping.
The fact becomes even more relevant considering the recent statements of Siucho, who allegedly said that he received pressure from Mateo Castañeda, former lawyer of President Dina Boluarte. This pressure was allegedly to make the collaborator modify his testimony, which highlights the seriousness of the case and the possible interference in the investigations.
