The Diplomatic Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Italy held a discussion at its headquarters in Rome, which included the participation of Italian observers who accompanied the presidential election process on July 28.
The meeting was attended by the Head of Mission, Maria Elena Uzzo, the ambassadors of Venezuela to FAO and other Multilateral Organizations, Marylin Di Luca, and of the Holy See, Franklin Mauricio Zeltzer; accompanied by the head of delegation of the Italian chapter of the Network in Defense of Humanity (REDH), Luciano Vasapollo; the jurist Fabio Marcelli, from the Research Center for the Development of Democracy (CRED); Rita Martufi, from REDH, and Salvatore Izzo, Vatican observer and journalist.
It is worth noting that on August 10, through a statement, nearly 50 international observers, members of the International Monitoring Plan of the National Electoral Council (CNE), spoke out on the legitimacy, transparency and integrity of the presidential elections held in Venezuela on July 28.
In the text issued, this group rejects the call for insurrection and the non-recognition of the election results, made by national and international extreme right factors.
“We ratify the statement in support of the legitimacy, transparency and integrity of the Venezuelan electoral process, organized by the National Electoral Council, which resulted in the reelection of President Nicolás Maduro,” they said.
