The Vice President for Sovereignty, Security and Peace and also Minister for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, stated that the IV World Cadet Games, held in Venezuela, “represented the highest level of excellence, -in turn-, the importance of sport as a means of integration, unity, complementarity and solidarity.” Principles for which the liberator, Simón Bolívar, fought and which Commander Chávez managed to refine, he said.
Following the closing ceremony of the IV World Cadet Games, Padrino López highlighted the importance of military sports competitions in the humanistic context and in terms of brotherhood, unity and solidarity between Venezuela and the peoples of the world.
Russia took first place with 107 medals, China 68, 27 of them gold, and Venezuela 89, 22 of them gold, took second and third place, respectively, in these IV World Cadet Games, where they demonstrated their skills in the different disciplines. The Honduran team had a special performance, Padrino López explained.
It is worth remembering that on August 17, from the Patio de Honor of the Venezuelan Military Academy, the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, together with representatives of the International Council of Military Sports, inaugurated the IV World Cadet Games “Venezuela 2024”, with the participation of athletes from countries such as Russia, China, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Mozambique, Nicaragua and Sri Lanka, who executed 7 disciplines; among which stand out fencing, swimming, volleyball, pentathlon, athletics, orienteering race and pistol and rifle shooting.
The first edition of these games was held in Türkiye in 2010.
