The Public Prosecutor’s Office will summon, in the next few hours, the former presidential candidate, Edmundo González Urrutia, to offer statements regarding his responsibility for the creation of a website that was intended to usurp the functions of the National Electoral Council (CNE).
This was reported on Friday by the Attorney General of the RepublicTarek William Saab, who stressed that this action is part of the investigation that his office is conducting into the responsibility of the extreme right in electoral crimes and usurpation of functions after the presidential election of July 28.
“He must attend this hearing to speak about his responsibility before July 28, during July 28 and after July 28, for his contumacy and disobedience to the legitimately constituted authorities,” Saab stressed during a press conference held on Friday.
Likewise, he confirmed the support of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the ruling of the electoral chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) that validates, after the relevant investigation, the results issued by the National Electoral Council on July 28.
On the other hand, he repudiated the fact that other nations have issued statements against Venezuela due to decisions made by the institutions of our country, contravening what is established in international justice.
“Venezuela is respected. These nations are violating international law, which creates an important reference for the democracies of the world for which Venezuela has been an example of respect, non-interference and self-determination of peoples,” he stressed.
