Luis David Odar Girón (23) and Eduardo Alexander Escobedo Querevalú (19) will be sent to the Piura prison, after they were sentenced to 9 months of preventive detention after shooting a businessman in an attempt to rob him in the city of Piura.
The Third Office of the Second Criminal Prosecutor’s Office of Piura obtained said measure against both subjects as alleged co-authors of the crime of attempted aggravated robbery.
On August 16, the victim was intercepted by the suspects who, threatening him with a firearm, allegedly tried to snatch the money that he had withdrawn moments before from a bank branch in the Real Plaza shopping center, from where they had allegedly followed him.
Because he resisted the robbery, they shot him in the leg and when they fled on the motorcycle they were riding, they lost their balance and fell to the ground, which was taken advantage of by the neighbors to hold them until the police arrived.
Among the elements of conviction presented by the Prosecutor’s Office and which link those under investigation to the crime are: the police intervention records; the discovery, collection and seizure of the weapon; the police verification; the forensic ballistics expert report which concludes that the weapon found has characteristics of having been used to fire shots and is operational, as well as the cartridges found.
As well as viewing videos showing the criminal act, the verbal complaint, the statements of the intervening police officers, among others.
Luis David Odar Girón and Eduardo Alexander Escobedo Querevalú will be admitted to the Piura prison, where they will face the proceedings against them as alleged co-authors of the crime of attempted aggravated robbery for which they could be sentenced to less than twenty years in prison.
