Rosales warns that the TSJ ruling “deepens the distrust of the majority”

Manuel Rosales, governor of Zulia, indicated that the ruling of the TSJ on the results of the June 28 elections issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE), “deepens the uncertainty and distrust of the majority” and that “it aggravates the institutional, economic and social crisis of the country”

The governor of Zulia, Manuel Rosales indicated on the night of Thursday, August 22, that the sentence of the Electoral Hall of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) “deepens the uncertainty and distrust of the majority” and insisted on the demand to publish the electoral records of the presidential elections of July 28.

“The ruling by the Electoral Chamber of the TSJ deepens the uncertainty and distrust of the majority in the handling of the electoral controversy, while the institutional, economic and social crisis of the country worsens (…) We have been categorical in demanding that the conflict be clarified, as indicated by the current regulations, and that the minutes be published,” wrote the regional leader on his account on X.

At noon on August 22, the Electoral Chamber of the TSJ validated the results of the presidential elections of July 28 issued by the electoral body, which declare President Nicolás Maduro the winner. “We certify in an unobjectionable manner the electoral material examined and validate the results issued by the CNE where Nicolás Maduro Moros was elected,” read the magistrate and president of the judicial body, Carislya Beatriz Rodríguez.

After the TSJ ruling was announced, national leaders and leaders from the region spoke out about it. The presidents of Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay, Gabriel Boric, Luis Lacalle Pou and Santiago Peña, respectively, rejected the ruling of the judicial body. “Today the TSJ of Venezuela finishes consolidating the fraud (…) Chile does not recognize this false self-proclaimed victory of Maduro and company,” Boric wrote in X.

Rosales concluded his statement by thanking “the support within and outside the country for this unwavering position.”
