Intelligence agents of the National Police managed to arrest 5 alleged members of the criminal gang known as “Los Pavos”, who are being investigated for stealing 25 cell phones during the serenade for the anniversary of the province of Azángaro.
Police officers stopped a Toyota vehicle with license plate B6P-225 near the Maravillas Bridge, near the city of Juliaca, in which the suspects were traveling.
Those arrested are: Meyson Bladimir Ramos Dueñas (33), who would be the leader of the alleged criminal gang and has a history of aggravated theft and receiving stolen goods. In addition, Elizabeth Salcedo Zapana (33), Angela Quellcca Meza (21), Andres Huaman Ayerme (38) and Percy Cahuana Calvo (39) were arrested.
According to investigations, the alleged criminals were returning from Azángaro to Juliaca, after stealing cell phones at the anniversary serenade in that province. When searching their belongings, they found 25 cell phones of various brands.
One of the victims of the robbery arrived at the police station and recognized his cell phone. He also confirmed that his device was stolen during the serenade for the anniversary of the province of Azángaro. The police chief called on the other victims to come to the police station to claim their stolen devices.
