J Balvin acknowledges that he has been an artist with many weaknesses and fears, admitting that in the entertainment world there are few friends and he experienced it, especially when he was condemned for his musical union several years ago with Tokischa, and from there the attacks by some people towards the artist diversified in each step he took in his musical career in a very cruel way.

”It was a good intention, with a bad result. There are people who don’t like me, who don’t like to see me win. But I have learned to see who are or aren’t my friends. Yes, I have a black list, whether it’s for likes, comments, or for rants, in songs. But I learned to see who my friends are,” she commented.
Forgive Resident

«I met him in Paris. I remember that I had been collaborating with Nike and the Jordan people for about three years. I wanted them to know my work and understand Latin culture, especially Colombian culture, so I invited them to see my shows.
“Once, while in Paris with my wife, I was told that Jordan was at a nearby restaurant. Without thinking twice, I went to see him. I gave him a hug and we sat down to talk. His wife is Latina, so we talked about a lot of things, but I didn’t miss the opportunity to mention to him that I had been waiting three years for approval to launch these Jordans under my vision. I told him, ‘Without your green light, there is no deal. ’ I encouraged him to call his executives.”
It took three years of waiting until Jordan’s team finally understood the artist’s concept.

He said: “People see the glory, but not the story. She is a hard-working phenomenon. I am not jealous of her successes. I am happy about her achievements. I know her family and we have been friends for many years. She motivates me to be the same or better as an artist. She simply inspires.”
J Balvin and depression
“I was 22 when I had my worst episode of depression. I wanted to jump off the balcony and die. But thank God my family really supported me.”
He admits that he was medicated for a long time. He learned that going to a psychiatrist is not because you are crazy, he is a very necessary mental health professional, but when his son was born everything changed and since then he has not used medication to treat this illness, which began in his life at a very young age, a subject that he is not ashamed to talk about since venting about it is part of his own therapy.
Music that never came out
He confessed: ”Uuuuff, Romeo Santos feat Drake and another song with Justin Bieber, it never came out. They are songs that are there, possibly you don’t hear them, but it was a very nice experience. A friend of mine has those songs somewhere. I don’t know.
New music
Colombian artist J Balvin has made a strong comeback to the music scene with the release of his new album Rayo, his first recording project in three years.
