If there is an animated character that has a positive impact on Colombian children, it is Dr. Muelitas, a mouse doll that has been the iconic character of the Colgate brand for several decades to promote oral health in the child population.

Teaching the correct use of a toothbrush and toothpaste and creating good habits for healthy growth and proper maintenance of teeth are the educational and fun tips that Dr. Muelitas has given for 50 years.

has given through awareness campaigns that annually benefit more than one million children throughout the territory
Colombian.

Through television commercials, social media campaigns and, especially, school visits, Dr. Muelitas provides children with an experience in oral health care, a practice that allows them to keep not only their teeth healthy, but also their gums, tongue and mouth in general.

Children and Dr. Muelitas

On this occasion, Dr. Muelitas provided educational material to children from a school in the municipality of San Antero, Córdoba, where Colgate recently supported a clean-up campaign on the beaches in the area, organized by the environmental group Green Souls Global, to free them from garbage, plastic waste and other materials that visitors throw indiscriminately, severely polluting them.

Nearly 150 children shared, had fun and laughed with the energy of Dr. Muelitas and at the same time were instructed on oral health recommendations such as, for example, proper brushing, which should be done by moving the toothbrush from top to bottom and not from side to side, since in this incorrect way residue remains between the spaces of the teeth.

During the activity, the children received an oral health kit consisting of a toothbrush and toothpaste along with educational and recreational material as a gift from Colgate to encourage oral health in them, and which thrilled them from start to finish.

The children also made an oath to Dr. Muelitas to take care of their oral health: “I promise to brush all my teeth and molars every day of my life because they are very important and they should always be clean and radiant. I promise you, Dr. Muelitas.”

Smiles in San Antero!

The event was attended by well-known personalities from Colombian television and social networks, such as Ana Sofía Henao, Mario Espitia, Sebastián Vega, among others, who are part of the environmental collective Green Souls Global and supported the talk by Dr. Muelitas and the staff in charge of the Colgate brand.

Throughout its existence as one of the most recognized oral health care brands on the market, Colgate has managed to positively impact more than one billion children, spanning 80 countries and 30 languages. All under the Bright Smiles, Bright Futures program.
