The health status of actress Laura Villamil after being burned by fire in a ‘show’ at the Andrés Carne de Res restaurant in Bogotá, continues being criticalaccording to statements made by his brother Santiago Villamil to the newspaper El Tiempo.

“Anything can happen at any moment and we are clinging to prayer and to the doctors,” said the young man who has been the spokesperson for his family regarding the medical progress of his loved one.
Villamil said that her relative was admitted to the Santa Fe Foundation Medical Center “almost dead” and had to undergo several surgical interventions after 70% of her body was burned last Saturday, August 16, in the evening hours, in circumstances that are being investigated by the authorities.
Due to the seriousness of her health condition, the young woman had to undergo a tracheostomy to allow mechanical ventilation and feeding. The treatments Laura Villamil receives daily are painful, and that is why she is sedated with pain-relieving medication and has her body bandaged.
“They are ruling out heart failure as a result of what happened to her vital signs.”Laura’s brother explained.
“There has been news that has not been very good, but we are waiting. They tell us that the process is already too slow with this type of injury,” said the victim’s brother.
According to what she revealed to El Tiempo, after what happened to her sister she received calls from people who witnessed the incident and told her that she was running from one side to the other trying to put out the fire that was spreading through her body. Some diners helped her with clothing and other items to put out the flames.
One of those witnesses apparently called Santiago Villamil crying, telling him about the serious situation that had occurred at the scene.
It should be noted that the Andrés Carne de Res restaurant, located in Bogotá, issued a statement to the public regarding what happened.
