Another alleged criminal dies in an alleged confrontation with the Police in San Cristóbal

Santo Domingo.-A alleged offender He was shot down this Wednesday in an alleged confrontation with police officers from the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM), in an incident recorded in the municipality of Cambita Garabitos in the province of San Cristóbal (south), according to information provided by National Police.

This is Melvin Alejandro Zoquier Campusano, 28 years old, who died while receiving medical attention at the municipal hospital of Cambita Garabito, in that province, according to the police report.

According to reports, Zoquier Campusano had at least four arrest warrants against him, including one for homicide.

The preliminary report indicates that he was injured when he fired shots at a National Police investigative patrol in an attempt to evade capture.

The incident occurred on Main Street in the municipality of Cambita Garabitos, where the patrol was preparing to execute arrest warrants No. 530-2024-EMES-01493, 530-2024-EMES-01499, 530-2024-EMES-01395 and 973-2024-EMES-08741.

The deceased was identified as the perpetrator of the murder of Luis Melvin Bonet Peña and the injuries caused to his partner, Wilma Frutoso Carrasco, in an incident that occurred on July 15.

“The National Police reiterates its commitment to public safety and its firmness in pursuing those who attempt to evade justice,” it said in a statement.
