Maria Corina Machado, founder of Vente Venezuela, reiterated that the government of Nicolas Maduro has forced employees to attend political events under threat of dismissal. “That is aberrant, it is humiliating, and that is why people are tired. Maria Corina Machado, leader of the Venezuelan opposition, called on the country’s public workers to support the political change that she said will be achieved in the country. She said that “the corrupt, the abusers, the flatterers of these regime leaders are a minority.”
On August 21, Machado released a video on his social networks in which he acknowledged that “that little group” is “very noisy but a minority, and that was what we showed the world on July 28.”
He said he values the efforts made by the workers and reiterated that they will respect the will that, he said, was expressed by the Venezuelans on July 28, when, according to his statements in recent days, the candidate of the Unitary Platform, Edmundo González Urrutia, won the presidential elections.
“That’s why I want to give you three messages. First, the regime is once again making a mistake. They don’t know you. They think that with all this they’re doing they’re going to stifle this cry for freedom and justice. Well, that’s not going to happen. So rest assured that we’re going to enforce the will and the truth,” he said.

He stressed that this sector of the population is needed at this time. He pointed out that the Maduro government is trying to sow distrust and separation. He said that the Executive and the high-ranking members of the ruling party are trying to generate fear “because they are afraid of you, so I need you to take care of yourself, to be well informed about what is happening and to help us spread these messages of strength.”
According to Machado, change is “inevitable” and will happen “much sooner than some people think.” He promised citizens that soon “they will be able to express themselves freely, to hold their heads high with pride for being Venezuelan, and we will need you to move this country forward.”
He added that the Venezuelan State “does not belong to a small group,” but to the citizens. He urged public employees to stop believing that pro-government officials “are your owners or that you owe them something.” He added that the State belongs to Venezuelans.
