The Minister of People’s Power for Transport, Ramón Velásquez, assured that the Venezuelan Consortium of Aeronautical Industries and Air Services SA (Conviasa) successfully overcame the cyber attack suffered by several institutions in the country.
Velásquez said that the attack was intended to affect the operations of Venezuela’s flag carrier, reports the Ministry of Transport’s account on the social network Threads.
“We have a team that remains alert 24 hours a day to prevent any attempt to attack the property of the Venezuelan people,” he said.
He also highlighted the commitment of the Ministry of Transport to the work being carried out to optimize the Caracas Metro System.
He also said that, despite the attacks, “the Bolivarian Government will continue to guarantee peace throughout the national territory.”
On August 11, the minister reported that the website of the airline Conviasa, as well as the payment systems of the metro and metrobus companies in several cities in the country, were victims of cyber attacks by the “hacktivist” group Anonymous.
In recent weeks, national authorities have denounced the cyberattack that certain sectors have launched against the digital platforms of various State institutions, with the aim of destabilizing their operation and generating inconvenience among the population.
