The former mayor of the Iribarren municipality in Lara and leader of La Causa R, Alfredo Ramos, reported on the night of Tuesday, August 20, that alleged officials of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin) showed up around his residence in the twilight state; which he defined as harassment against him.
Through his social networks, Ramos warned that this type of practice, along with the violation of Human Rights, continues to be recorded in Venezuela against those who have denounced “the blatant theft and massive fraud” of President Nicolás Maduro after the presidential elections and, in his opinion, executed “a blow to popular sovereignty and suspended de facto guarantees.”

EarlierThe Vente Venezuela party reported that its youth coordinator in the state of Bolívar, Virgilio Laverde, was arrested on August 15 in Ciudad Bolívar by officials of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (CICPC).
Laverde, 24, from Upata, was a few weeks away from his graduation ceremony as a doctor from the University of Oriente. His lawyers claimed that he was transferred to the city of Caracas to be presented for “inciting hatred” and “terrorism” before a court with jurisdiction over terrorist crimes.

“Since then, he has been the victim of arbitrary detention, without access to private lawyers and in violation of due process,” the party said.
The Venezuelan Penal Forum reported that until the morning of Sunday, August 18 1,503 people have been arrested in the context of demonstrations against the presidential election results announced by the National Electoral Council.
The group includes 129 arrests of teenagers, 200 women, 14 indigenous people and 18 people with some type of disability, chronic illness or special needs. Most of these arrests have occurred in the Capital District (315) and the states of Carabobo (196), Anzoátegui (113) and Aragua (107).
