In order to please the owner of their party appointments, the members of Morena who are currently serving in Congress and those who will do so starting in September do not reflect at all on the magnitude of their actions. Their irresponsibility is absolute, and their justifications regarding the meaning of the vote are nothing more than a reflex of the profound authoritarianism that characterizes them and that governs their conduct. The concentration of power is their only guide and they demonstrate it.
It is striking how these groups of majority legislators can gather around moments when the purpose is to destroy or hit something. To make a structure fall, it can be achieved with precise blows to a couple of columns. And that is sadly what we are currently seeing in the country. And the authorship of the current president and the complicity of the president-elect are evident.
Morena and its satellites have taken on the task of waving their interpretation of what they should do based on the meaning of the recent elections in the country. Without any hesitation, they have said that they were authorized to do everything, starting with destroying the judicial power with a series of measures that do not seek to improve the justice system in the country, but rather to exercise a political vendetta against those who dared to stop the president’s abuses in acts that violated the Constitution. That’s how low and obtuse they are.
And now, since what is required to implement their revenge is to have a qualified majority in the Congress of the Union, they are preparing to implement all possible tricks to pressure the INE and the TRIFE to give in to the pressure of granting them overrepresentation so that in an artificial, incongruous and abusive way they have the possibility of modifying the Constitution at their whim. We are on the verge of everything bad that can happen to the country by giving Morena the key to unilaterally determining the rules of coexistence and government in the country. It is the antithesis of everything that a democratic system presupposes and requires.
When it comes to modifying the basic rules of coexistence, it is neither viable nor tolerable for these decisions to be made by a single political force. Throughout the entire process of constitutional reforms, the plurality of opinions was established as an essential rule when considering changes to the fundamental rules. That is not what Morena intends, and if it gets its way, it would mean entering a dictatorial system all at once, since there would no longer be any democratic oxygen in the processes of national definitions.
The purpose of governing should be to find a way to solve the problems that those governed have. It is absurd not to address them and instead go about doing things that only seek to cover up the whims of messianic leaders. That is why we must demand that in the current situation the INE Counselors and subsequently the Magistrates of the TRIFE do their job to prevent an authoritarian regime from being installed in our country. It is their responsibility and they cannot make excuses.
The priorities of the population are those that should guide the public service. The fact that in the recent election there was a majority vote for Morena and its allies does not mean that they have the legitimacy to unilaterally change the rules of the game. They obtained 54% of the vote and under the criterion of overrepresentation it would be viable to take them to 60% of the Chamber of Deputies, but no more. That would be the correct interpretation of Article 54 of the Constitution and there is no other option than to make the representative vote of the rest of the parties fall from 46% to below 200 deputies, which is 40%. Any other proposal is unviable and historically abject and absurd. No to the destruction of the country.
The situation, in order not to fall into the abyss, requires us to be aware of what we want to do. We have already spoken of the 5 horsemen of the apocalypse and we do so again in the face of the enormous challenges that are before us. In the piñata that the President created to deceive the electorate and his own followers, he has placed a series of poisoned sweets that will not generate any good. Both our own and others have reflected on the content of the areas involved in the plan of destruction and, except for those sold out by interest, all the others need to open their eyes and not shock the nation with the wrath of their wooden sticks.
