Two people were injured yesterday after two cars, one Chilean and one Peruvian, collided at the intersection of Jorge Basadre and Ejército avenues in the city of Tacna.

The drivers of both vehicles, who were unharmed, were arrested and taken into custody in a National Police vehicle bound for the Central Police Station. Both claimed responsibility for causing the accident at the scene.
Police begin investigation
The driver of the Peruvian vehicle with license plate X3G-591 mentioned that his route was from south to north along Ejército Avenue towards the city center, while the Chilean vehicle with license plate RG-VK-94 was heading towards the Grau market along Jorge Basadre Avenue.

The investigation will be handled by personnel from the Central Police Station.
