“I ask the Ministry of Finance not to treat us as a government entity but as an independent branch of public power, which is currently paralyzed by lack of resources.”Cepeda said.

He also warned that The resources for the Senate newscast and the Congress channel will last until the 30th of this monththat is, in 10 days.

“We raise our voices to tell you that it cannot be that an important part of the legislative power is paralyzed because the Ministry of Finance does not give us the resources to which we are entitled”he added.

According to Cepeda, the Senate’s system for publishing bills through gazettes is underfunded. “Congress has not been able to publish more than 130 bills submitted by you.”

“We went to request a balance from the Ministry of Finance, we had a balance of 11,000 million pesos, and to say that not a peso had been transferred this semester for the operation of the Senate. They transferred 9,000 million to us, leaving the Congress channel, the Senate newscast and what is worse, the publication of the bills that you file exposed,” he said before the plenary.
