Penitentiary Service officials arrested for alleged denunciation of "Valle"

Pran “Valle” has reportedly denounced 10 officials from the Ministry for Penitentiary Services, including Vice Minister Kevin Ávila, for their alleged involvement in a plan to release several prisoners in order for them to infiltrate the protests and generate violence.


Officials from the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (Dgcim) arrested, according to information from the newspaper Latest News published on August 19, to 10 officials of the Ministry for Penitentiary Services for their alleged involvement in a plan aimed at releasing several prisoners in order to generate violence during post-election protests.

According to the aforementioned media outlet, among those arrested are seven prison guards at El Rodeo II, who are accused of being responsible for allowing several inmates to leave the prison grounds with the aim of causing chaos in the streets.

In addition, it reveals that the Deputy Minister of the Penitentiary Service, Kevin Ávila, the Director General of Security and Custody, and the Director General of Penitentiary Establishments are being questioned for this alleged plan. According to the information released, the officials would have been betrayed by the pran known as “Valle”, whose real name is Luis Yáñez and who said he had been contacted by the former deputy of the National Assembly 2015 Gilber Caro.

He appointed prosecutor by the extinct constituent assembly, Tarek William Saab, pointed out August 15th the former deputy of the National Assembly 2015 and member of Voluntad Popular Gilber Caro of being behind the financing and organization of alleged criminal groups related – he said – to the so-called “comanditos” of Vente Venezuela, for the alleged generation of acts of violence after the results of the elections of July 28.

Saab indicated that several “pranes” linked Caro to violent actions that occurred in the country. The prosecutor showed testimonies on the VTV channel to support his words and screenshots of conversations via WhatsApp between a pran called alias “Valle” with a pran from Uribana known as “El Ratón”, and another called “Santa Rosa”. According to the screenshots, it was alias “Valle” who pointed out Caro as the person who helped finance them.

In the video, alias “Valle” also indicates that Caro assured him that the money was sent by Leopoldo López. He also mentions another person known by the alias “Santa Rosa”, who was also invited to participate in violent and terrorist activities.
