Bolivia and the absurd myth of Sisyphus

In Greek mythology, Sisyphus was a cunning and defiant king who tricked the gods on several occasions. His cunning and arrogance eventually earned him an eternal punishment imposed by Zeus: he was to push a giant boulder to the top of a hill, only to have the boulder roll back down, forcing him to start over again, in an endless cycle of effort and failure; and why represents the absurd, the dead end that leads to the same thing, As we are now in Bolivia navigating in turbulent socialist waters divided into two streams, with absurd proposals for referendums that do not solve anything from the central government, announcements of war from the other front in Chapare, camouflaged racehorses emerging in Cochabamba, and opponents who do not raise a united head to carry that heavy rock to the top and declare victory of well-being, tranquility and peace for our country.

The myth was resurrected by the French philosopher Albert Camus in an essay in which

But when we Bolivians believed that our history was going to change, during the transitional government of Jeanine Añez, who represented the right or capitalism, the ghost of corruption also ends up drowning us in overpriced gases bought by the super minister Arturo Murillo, now imprisoned in the United States.

And like that king Sisyphus we returned to socialism and We started from the starting point and pushed the rock up believing that the current president Luis Arce had the magic formula to stop bearing the weight of the stone, but we have remained there, to the point that we can no longer continue, in debt to the limit, without dollars, without fuel and with empty pots echoing in the streets, longing for an Aladdin to appear with his magic lamp that instead of offering us referendums to fight more or war and conflicts from Chapare, lead us to encounter and hope…
