Police authorities rescued a newborn abandoned in a coffee plantation in the Cañamomo and Lomaprieta indigenous reservation, in the municipality of Riosucio, department of Caldas. The discovery was made thanks to the barking of several dogs.

In an act that has moved the entire community, the National Police and the inhabitants of the San Juan Vereda, located in the Cañamomo and Lomaprieta indigenous reservation, municipality of Riosucio (Caldas), managed to rescue a newborn baby abandoned in a coffee plantation.
The discovery was made thanks to an alert from the dogs in the area, who indicated something strange in the place.
The dogs warned the community
The incident occurred when the dogs began to bark insistently in the coffee plantation area. Their unusual behavior caught the attention of the neighbors, who, upon investigating, found the baby, approximately three days old, abandoned in the middle of the vegetation.
The community quickly notified the National Police, who arrived immediately at the site.
One of the patrolwomen, Yesica Andrea Guapucha, took the baby with great care, providing her with the warmth and comfort necessary for her well-being.
The little girl was taken to a medical center, where she received urgent medical attention.

After the rescue, the corresponding protocols were activated by the National Policethe Childhood and Adolescence group, the Family Commission, the indigenous governor and other competent entities to guarantee the protection and well-being of the baby, now known asor “Miracles.” This name, Chosen by the Guapucha patrol boat, it reflects the extraordinary nature of the rescue.
