The Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo (CCPSD) and Banco Promerica have signed a strategic alliance aimed at promoting the participation of companies where female shareholding exceeds 51%, with the aim of promoting the business development of women.
Banco Promerica, committed to its mission of developing relationships and offering products and services to its clients to help them overcome cultural, economic, personal or geographic limits, has reaffirmed its dedication to the inclusion and economic empowerment of women entrepreneurs. The entity has the development program for SMEs “ProInnova”which is composed of a series of financial and non-financial attributes, within which is integrated “ProInnovative” with benefits focused on women entrepreneurs.

Within the framework of this collaboration, the CCPSD has created the MujerES Directory, the first business directory that compiles a completely online database with more than 40,000 records of companies whose shareholders are 51% or more women. This tool is part of the Gender Parity Initiative, a public-private partnership that promotes affirmative actions in favor of women’s economic empowerment.
For her part, Lucile Houellemont, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Santo Domingo, after signing the agreement, stressed that the participation of women in productive systems has been fundamental for the growth of the economy. At the same time, she assured that gaps in opportunities still persist, and that they have proposed to contribute to eliminating them through alliances with various institutions.
“This agreement not only represents a strategic alliance between two institutions committed to economic and social development, but is also a testament to our joint commitment to gender equality,” she said.
