The discovery of four lifeless male bodies in the Llactapata sector, near the mining town of La Rinconada, in the Ananea district, in the province of San Antonio de Putina, caused consternation.
According to the police report, the incident occurred at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. The staff at the La Rinconada police station was alerted by telephone about the discovery of the bodies.
Upon arriving at the scene, the officers found three bodies together, two in a dorsal recumbent position and one in a ventral recumbent position. They all wore miner’s overalls, and one of them had its jaw shattered. About 40 metres away, a fourth body was found, also in a prone position and wearing similar clothing.
The four bodies have not been identified so far, so they remain under the category of “NN”. The Joint Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Ananea took charge of the proceedings and intervened specialized units to continue with the investigations and determine the causes of the deaths.
