The Ministry of Internal Affairs, Justice and Peace (Mpprijp), through the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc), together with the different entities of the Venezuelan State, work on the dissemination of prevention and security processes to combat cybercrime in the country.
In this regard, the head of the Division of Computer Expertise of the Scientific Police, Chief Commissioner Pascual González, pointed out that “electronic and mobile devices must be kept up to date; personal data must not be given on social networks: Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, as they are used to commit crimes.”
He also noted that CICPC officials are working on the dissemination and development of preventive programs, as well as on a set of techniques used to counteract this type of action.
“The scientific police have a multidisciplinary team that is at the forefront of any investigation into computer crimes,” he said.
He indicated that they are taking a preventive approach to cybersecurity, with the aim of seeking to educate citizens in the use of tools and the correct application of technology to avoid any fraud and scam on the different social networks.
