Specifically, the Punto Salarial Survey, a study carried out by elempleo.com and the Talent Advisor consultancy, explored What are the careers in which there is more scope for action in Colombia?

With more demand

The study found that business administration It is the career that registers the highest number of job offers, which corresponds to 8.26% of the total. It is followed by systems engineering and computing, which accounts for 6.19% of job offers, industrial engineeringwith 5.14% and software engineeringwith 3.49%.

In fact, according to the survey, engineering-related study programs have a plus and that is that They also top the list of the highest-paid professions (close to seven and nine million pesos on average) and with more job opportunities.

Next in the ranking are accounting (3.31%), computer systems technician (2.52%), computer systems development technology (2.39%), commercial and marketing administration (1.81%), software development and maintenance technician (1.71%) and marketing (1.63%).

What do young people graduate from?

According to the most recent figures from the National Higher Education Information System (SNIES), for the year 2023, the distribution of graduates in the different fields of undergraduate education and training was:

– Administration, law, finance and related fields: 55.94 %.

– Engineering: 22.29 %.

– Social Sciences, Journalism and Information: 13.29 %.

– Education: 11.32 %.

– Health and well-being: 8.44 %.

– ICT: 5.78 %.

– Services: 4.98 %.

– Arts and humanities: 4.02 %.

– Agriculture, fishing and veterinary: 2.83 %.

– Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics: 2.54 %.
