The number of deaths in the Petare tragedy has risen to 11

Sandra Delgado died this Saturday after being hospitalized after suffering serious injuries from a gas explosion in a multi-family home in the Unión neighborhood of Petare, which occurred on August 12.

With the death of 37-year-old Sandra Delgado, the number of fatalities from the unfortunate event that has shocked the community rises to 13.

Thirty people lived in the building that completely collapsed. The incident occurred at 5:30 in the morning, and officials from Civil Protection, Firefighters from the Capital District, security forces and authorities from the Government of Miranda State were immediately activated.

The injured were transferred to the Domingo Luciani hospital and to Pérez de León I and II.

Others have been housed, according to media reports, in the homes of their neighbours who have shown their solidarity following the terrible event.
