During a presidential trip to Oaxaca, Peña Nieto uttered his famous phrase in front of reporters’ cameras. The moment became one of the most viral of his six-year term.
“We are about to land here in Oaxaca, we are about a minute away from landing, no less, about five minutes away,” the PRI member said at that time.
During his administration, López Obrador has thanked Peña Nieto for not intervening during the 2018 electoral process, when the PRI lost the Presidency of Mexico to Morena.
Peña Nieto has kept a low profile, self-exiled in Spain, where he lives in a luxury residence.
