Political organizations in the country that want to register their alliances for the 2025 general elections must do so by October 21 of this year. The Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) has almost defined the electoral calendar for the elections of the following year, which will be on August 17 with a possible second round on October 19 and the inauguration of the new president will be on November 8.

“If the call for general elections is made on April 19, the law tells us that political alliances or electoral alliances, for a national election, must be registered six months before the call. What does this mean? That on October 21 of this year, the possible electoral alliances for this election must be recognized.explained the Secretary of the Chamber of the TSE, Fernando Arteaga.

The Plurinational Electoral Body (OEP) is preparing the electoral calendar for the 2025 presidential elections. In this sense, the call for elections will be made official on April 19, 2025. In addition, the national count must be carried out on November 1, 2025, and the official election results must be known on November 2, On November 5th, credentials will be handed over to the new deputies and senators, and on November 8th, the new president and vice president of the State should be sworn in.

“So that the election is on August 17, 2025, the call for presidential elections It will be April 19, 2025 because we need four months. “That is the time we have planned,” explained member Tahuichi Tahuichi.

At the moment, There are 11 political parties of national scope, that have legal status, although most are in the process of renewing their board of directors and adapting their statutes. Representatives of all of them met with the members of the Electoral Body on July 10, in order to reach agreements on future processes.

In this political situation, the opposition forces in the Plurinational Legislative Assembly are political alliances formed before the 2020 general elections: these are Citizen Community (CC)led by Carlos Mesa, and Creemos, led by Luis Fernando Camacho. Both are divided and their legislators are unable to achieve cohesion in their legislative work.
