Abinader will continue listening to sectors in search of solutions

Abinader seguirá escuchando sectores en busca de soluciones

Santiago. – President Luis Abinader held a meeting with community members and volunteers from the Civil Defense, Red Cross and Fire Department, where he stated that he will continue to listen to all sectors to solve the problems of people throughout the country.

“I want to send that message that we will continue to be in contact with the people solving problems of the people. That will continue to be a program that we will carry out and the first official day of this new mandate,” he said.

The president, who was accompanied by Vice President Raquel Peña, said he was happy and proud to begin his first day of work with the sectors that work day after day to address atmospheric events in the country.

Abinader and meetings in the communities

The president also stressed that during his first four years he met in every place to listen to the real problems that arose in each province of the Dominican Republic.

He pointed out that during the meetings, large-scale projects were proposed and that what people expected were several small projects that would solve large problems. He also said that work would be done on the small projects through the municipalities.

The Head of State stated that mass transportation works are being carried out in Santiago, noting the completion of the cable car and the construction of the Monorail, which must be combined according to the system and the flow of transportation.

He also said that part of the Gurabo ravine has already been completed and that the other part is still missing to conclude the sanitation process.

The ruler indicated that in these four years his intention is to leave an intangible legacy. These are the strengthening of democracy with the reform that will be presented next Monday.

In this regard, he said that the reform seeks to ensure that no one wants to perpetuate themselves in power by putting a lock on the Constitution. It also seeks to have a more independent Public Ministry.

PHYSICAL legacy in infrastructure

He also expressed his intention to leave a physical legacy in terms of infrastructure and that Santiago will have a very special stamp. This is because from 2026 it will be one of the best connected cities in Latin America.

President Luis Abinader was accompanied by the governor of Santiago, Rosa Santos; the senator, Daniel Rivera; the mayor Ulises Rodríguez. Also the director of Coraasan, Andrés Burgos and the administrator of Edenorte, Andrés Cueto.
