Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) will present the TV Brasil Exhibition Award this Friday (16) during the 52nd edition of the Gramado Film Festival. The company is one of the co-sponsors of the event, which began on August 9 and ends tomorrow at the Palácio dos Festivais.
The best feature film from Rio Grande do Sul will be awarded R$50,000 in licensing fees. Three other short films from Rio Grande do Sul will each receive a prize of R$5,000 in the categories of best film, best director and best screenplay. The rules for the awards follow the rules and judging criteria of the Festival itself.
The president of EBC, Jean Lima, highlighted the importance of the award at this time of resumption of cultural activity in the state after the floods that hit Rio Grande do Sul in May of this year. “It is a way for us to encourage regional audiovisual production in Rio Grande do Sul and also a form of recognition, because the Gramado Festival is the first major event in the state after the tragedy that struck the people of Rio Grande do Sul,” he said.
The TV Brasil Exhibition Award is granted by EBC to traditional festivals in the country. This year, the award is part of the audiovisual axis of the EBC Public Communication Award, which also recognizes journalistic initiatives for the combating disinformation and the music productionat the traditional National Radio Music Festival and the MEC Radio Awards.
