Merida residents will debate law for the regularization of NGOs

The deputy of the National Assembly (AN) for the state of Mérida, Rodolfo Zerpastressed that he will work together with the parliamentarians of the Andean entity to bring to families and all social movements the debate on the Law of Supervision, Regularization, Action and Financing of Non-Governmental Organizations and Non-Profit Social Organizations, as part of the Public Consultation proposed to the people.

During the interview given on the program Into the air, broadcast on Venezolana de Televisión, the parliamentarian said: “We are going to hold a consultation that will allow us to go to our people, to the communities, to the Popular Power, above all to discuss it with the families that were affected during those days by a series of fascist actions.”

He said that the purpose of this initiative is to achieve the participation of all sectors, in this way it will be possible to carry out this legal instrument and make all the necessary contributions, in order to obtain a law to guarantee peace and tranquility for the Venezuelan population.

He specified that previously anyone could register an NGO, but with this new law it will be possible to review this type of organization, as well as to have greater control over where the funding goes. “Previously there was a legal system in which the form of presentation of accounts, financing, or where the funds came from was not established.”

Deputy Zerpa stressed that NGOs in the country are respected, but that organizations that are destined to develop activities against the stability of the nation will not be allowed.
