The majority of ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) voted this Friday (16) to confirm the suspension, for an indefinite period, of the execution of parliamentary amendments to the Union Budget.Majority of the STF confirms suspension of the execution of amendments to the Budget

So far, the rapporteur, Flávio Dino, who was accompanied by André Mendonça, Edson Fachin, Cristiano Zanin, Alexandre de Moraes and Dias Toffoli, has voted. The other ministers have until 11:59 pm this Friday (16) to vote in the extraordinary virtual session called solely on the topic.

Earlier, the president of the Supreme Court, Luís Roberto Barroso, denied a request made by Congress to overturn Dino’s injunctions on its own, claiming that the interference of the Court’s presidency would only be justified in “exceptional” circumstances, which would not be the case.
