In a statement, the authority said that these cases are distributed across 11 states and that variant 1b has not been identified at this time.
The registered cases correspond to Mexico City (29), Quintana Roo (7), Jalisco (3), Morelos (2), Puebla (2), State of Mexico (1), Nuevo León (1), Sinaloa (1), Tamaulipas (1), Tlaxcala (1) and Veracruz (1).
The National Committee for Epidemiological Surveillance (made up of the country’s health sector institutions) published an epidemiological notice on mpox to locate and treat patients who may become infected.
It is suggested that we remain alert to the potential emergence of probable and/or confirmed cases of mpox in Latin American countries.
“Mexico has an epidemiological surveillance system for monkeypox, through which probable cases are reported, using the SINAVE Platform in real time,” he said.
