The president of the Ibero-American Forum of Government Agencies for Consumer Protection (FIAGC), Eddy Alcántara, was formally invited to speak on the main aspects that affect trade and the digital ecosystem, at an event sponsored by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC), to be held in Lima, Peru.
Alcántara, who is also executive director of the National Institute for the Protection of Consumer Rights (Pro Consumidor) of the Dominican Republic, will speak on the subject at the third edition of APEC Digital Week, which will take place from August 21 to 25, and which will be attended by representatives of the twenty-one economies that make up the multilateral forum created in 1989 to consolidate the growth and prosperity of those nations and territories of Asia and America bathed by the Pacific Ocean. The official was invited to speak on the subject of “Protecting online consumers considered vulnerable groups,” in connection with the initiative made by the head of Pro Consumidor and president of the FIAGC last July at the eighth session of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts (IGE) on Law and Policies of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) held in Geneva.
